Up by 8:30 and off to the dollar store to buy big Canadian flags and other Canadian souvenirs for Canada Night. Then I walked to Parliament Hill and stumbled across the changing of the guard. First a pipe band and marching soldiers and then a marching band that brought in the new guards. Back to the residence to finish packing and organizing before we all went for lunch at a different local restaurant except Diane who had gone to CTF to get her computer repaired. Bonnie has had a very serious worry in that the town she lives in, LaRonge in northern Saskatchewan is surrounded by forest fires. It has been evacuated and her husband has been trying to build a fire break around their home. Then she found out that he had an accident and tore a ligament in his ankle and has to be in a cast for six weeks. She was really conflicted about going to Ghana, but her husband told her to go because there is nothing she could do at home and that she had planned to be a part of this project for so long. Then we caught three cabs to take the seven of us and all our luggage to the airport, where Diane met us. Checked in and waited three hours before boarding. We saw Simone's Togo team and Lyle's Guyana team. Flight was uneventful but I didn't get much if any sleep. Food was lousy too.
