Lyle, Cameron, Joe, Owen with Bobby a Ghanian, husband of Jennifer, PO's travel agent
Saturday July 5th.
Packed up early this morning and we
took our luggage with us to the Father and Son Restaurant that we used last
year. All 52 of us had breakfast there. Alex brought his car and loaded our
luggage and Sierre Leone's too as we are both going to the airport right after
the last session this afternoon. The bus picked us up there and took us to CTF.
Most of the sessions today focused on health and safety and what to do if you
get into trouble. We had a great
bbq steak or chicken lunch and then we had a special visitor, Barbara (who ran PO
for years and retired last year) and her husband Bobby. After that we broke up
and all said our goodbyes. We loaded up in taxis and headed to the airport.
The flight to Frankfurt was long
and uneventful. I couldn't sleep on it except for brief snatches. We arrived in
Germany at 6:30 am their time and midnight our time. So now we have jet lag, no
sleep and a seven hour wait for our connecting flight to Accra to contend with.
The other Ghana group left Ottawa
at 10 pm and flew to London. They will meet us in Accra.
