Accra, Ghana

 Sunday, July 6th.
It was a long wait with very little to do. We talked a bit, read some newspapers and had lunch and eventually the time passed. The flight to Accra was also long. The food was okay and I listened to my iPod. I had a window seat and could see the Mediterranean as we crossed it and the coast of Africa as we crossed into Tunisia. I saw some of the features of the Sahara too. We arrived about 7 pm and were met by Ernest, from GNAT (Ghana National Association of Teachers), and Eric our driver. They took us to our hotel, the Coconut Grove, where we checked into some nice rooms and waited for an hour in the bar area for the other group to arrive. When they did we had a meeting with the eight of us and Ernest who told us what the plan was for the next couple of days. He told us we have tomorrow off because of our travel time. We had a couple of beer and some snacks and then he left and most people went back to their rooms, except for Angela, Barb, Owen and I who went for a paddle in the pool to cool off before bed.
