Friday November 19th.
The bus from Buenos Aires to Iguacu was very comfortable. It was a cama coach, which means the seats fold right down to form a bed. There is a curtain between you and your neighbour. I slept well and arrived on time.

Unfortunately, Kristian arrived early as he forgot there was an hour time difference between Brazil and Argentina. Kristian is a former international student that Danny and I hosted in January of 2002. When he came to Canada he was nineteen and wanted to see snow. Danny visited Kristian and his family in 2006.
Kristian picked me up in Puerto Iguacu, Argentina and drove me to Foz Du Iguacu, Brazil. After meeting his parents and settling into their home, he took me to Parque do Aves (the bird park). There we saw many different types of tropical birds. You walked into some of the cages and the birds were free. Really a nice zoo.
As we drove home again, we stopped at a stand by the side of the road and had a lemon flavoured drink made from sugar cane. Then we went to a spot where the River du Iguacu meets the Parana River. Here the rivers form the border between Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay and from the lookout where we were you could see all three.
In the evening we all (Kristian´s parents, Kristian and his girlfriend and her son, Luis and his wife Alice and their son and myself) went to a local restaurant for a meal of shishkababs and beer. A very pleasant evening.
Hi Joe,
ReplyDeleteYou look great! Pictures are outstanding. I will catch up with the rest of your blog when I get some time. Wish I was there with you.
Don't get a parrot. They live to be 90.
ReplyDeleteThis is the blog editor... I visited Kristian in 2007 sir, not 2006!
ReplyDelete:) I'm very jealous!
