Out side our hotel. Note the Laugf supermarket sign where we shopped.
Big load.
Masjid Mosque.
Sign: no horn... because they use them all the time, everywhere.

Selling flags, as tomorrow is the 70th anniversary of Sri Lanka's independence.
John at our pool.
Saturday, February 3rd.
We had a lazy morning after breakfast. I am having a
great deal of trouble with Skype and now I have lost my contact list. Needless
to say, I’m not happy about it.
John and I finally went out, hailed a tuk tuk and went
to the Pettah Market. We wandered around the narrow streets observing the sights,
sounds, and smells of all the shops and things on offer. We stumbled across a
new mosque named Masjid. We talked to a very friendly and funny man at the
door, who said we could come in and take photos but had to stay in a certain
area. We had to leave our shoes at the door. While there we used the washroom, which
really was a washroom with the faithful washing the feet and faces before
praying. At the door to the toilet there were flip flops on the floor for us to
use.
Then we took a tuk tuk back to the hotel. John had a nap
and I argued uselessly some more with the computer and updated some more blog
entries. Then we had a brief dip in the pool again before meeting up in the lobby
with our GAdventure group and our guide Sam (he has a really long unpronounceable
name). We introduced ourselves to each other and then walked a kilometre to a
restaurant in the beach area. We had a drink and a nice seafood meal while
getting familiar with each other. We were back in the room by 9:30. We have a
relaxed 8:30 start.
