Class two, with four kids absent.
This was my recess duty this morning, inside the library watching kids read.
Tuesday,
February 2nd.
Rode
to school again this morning on a beautiful warm sunny day. Today I
was working with the other class, I had to try to learn 22 new names
and repeat all of the activities from yesterday. But I had to do it
in less time because the hour and a half between recess and lunch the
whole grade 3/4 team is released to do team planning. Today we were
trying to sort through some logistics and routines. Then we started
to organize the Friday afternoon sports activities that happen every
week. All the grade 3's and 4's are to spend 50 minutes inside on
health topics and then 50 minutes outside playing some sport. We have
8 teachers available and 160 kids, so we will take turns leading a
lesson inside or out with about 20 students each.
We
have one hour professional learning meetings after school on Mondays
and Tuesdays every week. So today we talked in teams about our start up and shared some ideas and best practices.
I
rode home again, dropped off the bike and walked over to Woolies to
pick up some fruit and milk. Then home to do some work and get some
insurance quotes. I got a quote for $300 for the year. I'm very happy about that and off to bed.
Hi Joe looks like a great ( big ) class
ReplyDeleteseems you are settling in nicely do you have an accent yet?
Like the variety in your schedule. Never a dull moment. Glad weather has improved for you especially for your cycle ride to and from school.
