Sports

Friday, February 5^th.
Took the train this morning and read John Cleese's book. I had another good day at school. Today between recess and lunch we had 'Sport' with all the grade 3's and 4's outside to do different activities. So we had 160 kids and all their teachers outside on the astroturf field. The other grades go out at other times. They divided them up and we played frisbee, games, soccer and basketball. Gilles (the French supervisor) and I ran the basketball drills. So the kids were outside for a half hour of recess, an hour and half of sport, followed by fifteen minutes inside to eat and outside again for another 45 minutes. Lots of fresh air and sunshine.

After school a group of us went to the pub for a drink. This is a great way to meet some of the staff in a more relaxed manner. Leora brought her partner Adam who used to be in the navy and then the defense department. He was interesting to talk to especially after he discovered I knew and liked the Australian band Midnight Oil. I suggested he check out Porcupine Tree.


Got home about nine and did some work before bed.
