Auckland Harbour Cruise

Saturday, January 2nd.
Woke up early to another damp, dreary, drizzly day. Spent the morning creating a spreadsheet and an explanatory letter for Maurene about the kids and their marks. Then went down to the inhouse restuarant for the breakfast buffet. Larry Eade called me and agreed that driving to Coromandel in this weather would be pointless. It is so rainly there that he is considering coming home early and therefore I might get to see him in Auckland before I leave, or if not, we might be able to meet up in Melbourne as the company he works for does a lot of business there. So not lost yet.

Went for another long walk around the city, finding the Ibis Styles Hotel where the GAdventure tour starts tomorrow. Then I walked down to the harbour and despite the weather, bought a ticket for the harbour cruise. I met a couple wearing GAdventure tour red jackets and asked if they worked for GAP and they said no they were given the coats on their trip to Antarctica. Talked to them while looking at the sights and dodging the rain. We saw people bungee jumping off the harbour bridge. I walked back to the hotel via the indoor shopping malls and had a nap. Quick dinner at the hotel restaurant and then organizing for the trip.
