Election Day

Monday October 25. So we have a new mayor. What did you say his name was?

Today was a rest day. My legs needed to recouperate. So, I took it easy. I worked almost all day uploading pictures and updating the blog - lot of work!! Had breakfast in the hotel with the group. And then this afternoon we all went to a local restaurant for a final lunch. Ali came too, even though it was his day off. I had a great trout with citrus salsa and orange flavoured mashed potatoes and a pumpkin and cheese soup. One of the girls ordered the guinea pig.

Had a meeting with GAP about my next trip, I'm off to the Amazon jungle for three days. So that should be very interesting. Again I will be out of touch until Thursday. My buddy Mark is going too.

That's it. Happy reading of all the new entries and I'll talk to you soon.

  2. The Guinea Pig looks delicious! Watch out for tribes in the jungle as a lot of them are headhunters. If they shrink your head your Tilley hat won't fit very well! Have a safe trek you lucky guy!!

  5. Just finished reading about your hike along the Inca Trail as you reached Machu Picchu (all 4 days)...fascinating read along with stunning pictures! An unbelievably challenging hike - and we all know how fit you are, especially due to the change in altitude. Glad you were able to arrive safely at the top and enjoy it. Sounds like the people: from your group to the porters to the leaders, were all outstanding! Fantastic once-in-a-lifetime experience. Have to put this on my to-do list. Hope you're having the time of your life in the Amazon junge with all your friends (both human and animal)!

  8. Hey Joe
Just got caught up with the blog and the Inca trail entries (days) were just fantastic..and the pictures were incredible. I don't think there is anything more that I could add that the others haven't. You went from a doubting crappy place, to a tick the box done it place, and everything in between. Congrats. Hope you are having a "swinging" time in the jungle.
