Visiting a colonial (tourist) town.
Beautiful kids.
January, 2008
Terri and I decided to escape the Canadian winter and head south once again and return to the Dominican Republic. We stayed at a resort. We enjoyed the beach which was open to locals and was a beehive of activity. We took a couple of tours of the area including to a colonial town, complete with amphitheatre where they put on live concerts.
I scuba dived there, and we did a lot of snorkelling. We bought a couple of local paintings that Terri framed when we got home. It was a wonderful relaxing week in the sun.
Sadly, this was the last trip I took with Terri. Things felt apart shortly after we arrived home. I think her knowledge that I was taking a sabbatical year to travel the world in 2010-11 put a lot of pressure on our relationship. She was a wonderful woman and a great travel companion.
